WASHINGTON — Veteran Washington Correspondent discusses his pivot to independent journalism and his new job working for new media company Meidas Touch with local Milwaukee radio hosts.
Noting that since he recently left CBS and signed with Meidas Touch, the breaking news videos he’s producing are now seen by an audience of 6 million people way outside the Washington Beltway.
“That’s more than the CBS Evening News had — no disrespect to a great show — but that’s where the people are,” MacFarlane tells the Milwaukee audience. “You gotta go where the people are for news.”

MacFarlane also discusses “becoming the news” since leaving CBS and being singled out by the Trump White House officials, Hollywood Reporter, Washington Examiner and more.
In the wake of regional news outlet layoffs and downsizing in recent decades, MacFarlane highlights the glaring gap in the Washington press corps that he and outlets like The LCB are trying to fill by providing relevant, timely and localized political news outside the bounds of the nation’s dominant corporate media networks.
