Austin’s KUT: Texas mayors call on Congress to suspend restrictions on flights at Dallas Love Field

NARR: The long and sometimes heated debate over Dallas Love Field has been resolved between airlines, airports and city officials back in Texas. But that doesn’t mean the issue will close immediately in Washington.
Mayor Mike Moncrief says Congress must move quickly in order to get the compromise put into law by December.

Some members of Congress want the Federal Aviation Administration to look into potential safety problems before backing the bill.
But Round Rock Republican John Carter is encouraged by the deal in Texas.
CARTER-COMPROMISE “It looks like to me what ought to happen in a lawsuit happened, compromise,” Carter told KUT.
He also said he is pleased with the bill right now and expects it to be on the house floor by the fall.
